International Classical Series 2025: Leon McCawley

The ever popular Leon McCawley presents a programme which includes Beethoven’s much loved ‘Waldstein’ sonata together with enchanting pieces by Chopin and finishing with Cesar Franck’s mighty ‘Prelude, Chorale & Fugue’.

Since winning First Prize in the International Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna and Second Prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition, Leon has given recitals across the UK & around the world and can frequently be heard on BBC Radio 3. As a concerto soloist, he has performed with orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic and City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestras as well as the St. Petersburg Symphony and Philadelphia Orchestras. He has made several appearances at the BBC Proms which have been televised on BBC4.
